BIG defeat fnatic to book cs

The German team will move on to face Vitality for their second consecutive grand final appearance.

BIG are through to the upper bracket final of cs_summit 6 Europe following a convincing victory over fnatic in two maps. The DreamHack Masters Spring champions continued their good run of form as they held off a team sitting two places above them in the rankings despite an impressive performance from Ludvig "⁠Brollan⁠" Brolin, who had on Overpass his highest rating of the year (1.95).

The Germans were on the front foot from the off on Overpass, racing to a 3-0 lead and then staying ahead after a period of pressure from fnatic. A sneaky defuse by Florian "⁠syrsoN⁠" Rische in a 1v2 situation was a heavy blow for the Swedes, but they kept their composure and ended the half in the lead thanks to some stellar rounds by Brollan, who had 19 kills to his name.

XANTARES topped the scoreboard as BIG defeated fnatic

The Swedish youngster continued his one-man crusade in the second half with more stunning individual plays, including a 1v3 clutch, as he desperately tried to keep fnatic in the game during a keenly-contested period of the game. Rounds continued going both ways as neither side managed to stamp their authority on proceedings, but then a stunning clutch from Nils "⁠k1to⁠" Gruhne turned the tide in BIG's favor, setting the team up for a 16-13 finish.

Nuke began with fnatic taking the lead, but there was no follow-up as BIG responded immediately and took control of the game. Johannes "⁠tabseN⁠" Wodarz's troops rallied to a 5-1 lead and put together another string of rounds late in the half to secure a 9-6 score. After switching sides, the Swedes still attempted a comeback, but their hopes were crushed once BIG had money in the bank as they went on a dominant 7-1 run to extend their winning streak on Nuke to seven games.
