Liquid take down G2 to advance to New York semis

Liquid have overcome G2 in a three-map series (Dust2 16-3, Inferno 17-19, Overpass 16-8) to top Group A and advance to the ESL One New York semi-finals.
After taking down ENCE earlier on the map, G2 once again picked Dust2 in Group A's winners' match against Liquid and got off to the better start on the CT side as François "amanek" Delaunay and Lucas "Lucky" Chastang turned around a 2v5 situation.
Things quickly turned sour for the French side, however, as Liquid asserted dominance over the map, even winning several disadvantageous scenarios including two 2v4s featuring Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken, and didn't let G2 come back into contention with a massive 12-1 streak to end the half in convincing fashion. With Jake "Stewie2K" Yip converting the second pistol round with a triple, there was little hope for the Frenchmen as Liquid finished off the first map 16-3.
With Liquid on a nine-map winning streak on Inferno, it was difficult to imagine G2 having a chance in the series anymore, but with Lucky, Audric "JACKZ" Jug, and Kenny "kennyS" Schrub all putting up key multikills, their team was in a great spot at 7-0 on the CT side. The North American side finally put a round on the board in the eighth, but only with a last-second plant, and G2 immediately took over again as kennyS got a double opening on banana. As the half started to come to a close, Liquid found an answer with the last three rounds going their way thanks to an opening on B and a 1v2 clutch from Twistzz, which gave them some breathing room going over to the defense.

There, they added the second pistol round and an anti-eco win, but soon found themselves up against match point as they struggled to defend against full weaponry early on. G2 couldn't seem to finish off the map, however, losing round after round including a 5v3 advantage and a 1v1 situation, with Liquid stringing together the unthinkable 10 rounds in a row to take the second map to overtime.
Key entries from JACKZ and Fabien "kioShiMa" Fiey gave G2 the opening two rounds and another chance to finally close the map presented itself when they added a third at the start of the second half, and two rounds later they did at 19-17, denying a scary 1v5 attempt from Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski.
When it came to Overpass, things were back to the dynamic from map one as Liquid racked up a massive lead on the offense, going up 9-0 after dominating early and Keith "NAF" Markovic and Nick "nitr0" Cannella closing a few rounds with clutches. G2 could only muster three in a row while the favorites came away with a 12-3 half, with nitr0 clutching his second 1v3 of the map on the way.
The sides switched and G2 gave themselves a chance with a pistol round victory, stringing five rounds together, but ultimately all it took was a clean A defense to swing the momentum back in the favor of Liquid, who did not delay the match any further with four in a row and a 16-8, 2-1 victory.
